DIRECTIONS TO LOCH NESS FROM RHODES VILLAGE

Continue on the main road through Rhodes (Muller Street), over the Tintern River bridge, past the Rhodes Hotel and across a stop street until you reach a T junction facing the Rhodes Police Station. Turn left at the T junction and continue out of town for approximately 1 Km until you reach a signboard saying CARLISLE HOEK to the left. There is also a signboard to TIFFINDELL. Turn left at the sign boards and continue for approximately 21 Km. You will see a green and white farmhouse (Den Hagen )on your right hand side at approximately 6 Km. Den Hagen will be the gathering point for swimmers who want a lift to the dam. Continue along the winding, steep incline until you reach the plateau. Follow the Tiffindell signs and go past the Tiffindell turnoff. The dam is about 1 km further on the right hand side.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Only competent swimmers will be allowed to take part. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a competent adult.
Competitors must register during the one hour period immediately preceding their event (allow for the queue!)
This is a non sponsored event and as such no cash prizes awarded for winning this event.
While every endeavour will be made to hold the event, it must be borne in mind that Rhodes weather is unpredictable. Should it be impossible to hold the event for reasons beyond our control no entry fees will be refunded.
Any competitor who fails to obey these conditions of entry, instructions of an official or who receives assistance while swimming may be disqualified. No swimming aids will be allowed. Wet suits are permitted.
Competitors are only allowed to swim in the event, determined by their age and gender, unless otherwise agreed on by the organisers, irrespective of the event indicated on the entry form.
All competitors swim at their own risk. If anyone cannot swim 1 mile in a swimming pool under 65 mins, it is not advisable to attempt this swim.
